At this years Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine Technology international trade fair (SMM), the Tognum subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen together, with MTU South Africa (PTY) Ltd, supplier of engines, complete propulsion and power systems in southern Africa, launched a new, standardised genset for diesel-electric propulsion and onboard power generation.

Intelligent solution resulting in significant savings: the total drive power of the W 210 of 500 kW / 671 HP is divided into 276 kW / 370 HP for the first and 224 kW / 300 HP for the second engine.
