The Durban University of Technology’s (DUT’s) student Ntuthuko Mchunu has been invited to attend the 2019 Mining Indaba Young Leaders Day that will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on 7 February 2019
The 2019 Mining Indaba aims to gather together young minds and also mining companies from all over the world, to discuss the development of mining interests in Africa.
The event is also dedicated to supporting education, career development, sustainable development and other important causes in Africa. The programme provides a great opportunity for University students, recent graduates and future leaders to gain access to leading mining executives, and learn more about the industry.
Mchunu, a human resources management student, said, “My role as a young university student will be to tackle issues that affect young investors in the mining sector. I will also talk about how we can bring young impoverished people to have an interest in the mining sector and how companies can assist young people to invest in the mining industry.”
According to him, “Young people should partake in such events to learn from other young leaders from around the world and to share ideas on how to tackle the current status quo and how we as young people can go about into being the difference that we want.”
