Congo-Brazzaville’s airline ECAir has added Beirut, Lebanon to its list of destinations and will also extend its service to other cities in sub-Saharan Africa

The airline will launch the Brazzaville-Beirut route next month, stated officials. The Lebanese capital is a historic Middle Eastern city, with numerous cultural, commercial and banking centres, as well as tourist sites.

Fatima Beyina-Moussa, managing director of ECAir and president of AFRAA said, “The launch of the third intercontinental route fulfils the promise we made to our passengers – to offer them the ability to connect Central Africa to the Middle East. Opening up the Beirut destination strengthens relations between the Congo-Brazzaville and Lebanon. This is good news and a considerable timesaver for passengers, particularly business people.”

The service, which will initially run bi-weekly, is in collaboration with Trans Air Congo (TAC). ECAir will deploy a Boeing 757 on the route.

Following the launch of the Brazzaville-Beirut flight, ECAir plans to extend its regional network with inaugural services to Abidjan, Yaounde, Bangui and N’Djamena.
