The Nigerian aviation ministry and China have signed an MoU to build four airport terminals in Nigeria within the next 18 months

Ministry official Mark Jacob said that the design and concept for these airports form part of the total aviation overhaul proposed by the ministry.

Jacob remarked, “Nigeria cannot attain its goal of becoming a regional hub unless new terminals are built. The terminals are proposed for Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Port-Harcourt and involve construction of modern infrastructure that will cater to all aviation needs.”

According to him, several international corporations from Europe and America have also made proposals for engagement in Nigeria.

The ministry has signed MoU’s with several international corporations in those countries with definite time lines on the way to move the Nigerian aviation sector forward, Jacob said.

The official also observed that massive construction work was going on simultaneously in 11 airports as part of the first phase of the 22 earmarked airports and terminals.
