SRK Consulting celebrates 50 years of sustainable engineering

The company’s independent, global network of experienced engineers and scientists work in multi-disciplinary teams to generate innovative methods and technologies for clients in fields including mining, infrastructure, water and energy, as well as environment, social and governance (ESG).

With 50 years in consulting, SRK’s 1,600 experienced specialists in more than 40 offices offer strategic insights and in-depth studies on risks and opportunities across the project life cycle. Its independence is based on taking no equity in projects. 

SRK is well known in the mining sector, offering a complete mining consultancy service including exploration planning, integrated feasibility studies, economic evaluations and detailed mine design. ESG aspects are incorporated into all these services as well as mineral reporting, due diligence studies and technical reviews. 

The company’s ESG team has wide experience in all aspects of ESG management, and works to recognise international sustainability principles and standards. Consideration of stakeholders’ contexts and needs is central to the environmental and social assessment studies that it leads.  

In the water and waste sector, SRK’s team offers expertise in areas including groundwater and surface water management, waste disposal and pollution control, as well as site monitoring and water quality. Another key focus is water stewardship; led by credentialed scientists, SRK plays an active role in initiatives promoting the universal framework and standard of water use championed by the Alliance for Water Stewardship. 

In infrastructure and civil engineering, SRK boasts the expertise and experience to provide services including project management, design, drawing, contract documentation, administration and site inspection. Its experts consider environmental and social factors in design and engineering. 

The company is also active in the energy sector, with a range of services to energy-related projects from power stations to wind farms. Its work includes risk assessments, due diligence studies, engineering studies and foundation design, as well as authorisation and permitting.
