High turnout at bauma brings hope for construction sector

Around 3,400 exhibitors were registered for this years bauma show.

bauma 2016 has drawn to a close, with the event serving as a meeting point for exhibitors and visitors to discuss the latest developments in the construction sector

The event, which took place in the exhibition grounds of Messe Munchen in Munich, Germany kicked off on 11 April 2016 and ran until 17 April 2016. It saw a huge turnout by visitors and exhibitors alike.

Messe Munche launched a new service for the construction sector - the ‘bauma Open innovation’ online platform for industry professionals in time for bauma.

The platform enabled professionals in the sector to use the platform to solve their innovation-related challenges, helping firms find appropriate technological solutions to meet specific challenges they are facing.

In 2013, bauma welcomed a total of 3,421 exhibitors from 57 countries and 535,065 visitors from more than 200 countries. Taking place every three years, around 3,400 exhibitors were registered for this year's show and the exhibition attracted around half a million visitors over the seven days. The exhibition space is a total of 605,000 sq m.

One of the current market requirements for the most diverse types of construction machinery is efficiency.

German manufacturer Wirtgen therefore has introduced a 'Compact Class' where its existing range machinery has now been supplemented by the W 150 CFi front loader. The new product brings together the benefits of small milling machines, maneuverability, one-man operation and flexibility.

Wirtgen Group has its biggest stand ever at the show to date and it's the second largest at bauma.
