Megger hosts webinar on smart grid sensors

The webinar emphasised practical applications

On 3 June, Megger hosted a webinar titled 'Smart Grid Sensors: Flexible Solutions for Diverse Power Grids', attracting utility professionals and engineers keen to explore smarter grid solutions

The session was presented by Johan Pryra, Senior Applications Engineer for Monitoring Solutions at Megger, who discussed how flexible, data-driven technologies are helping utilities meet the varied challenges of today’s power distribution systems.

Pryra pointed out that although power grids may look similar around the world, their design and operational demands differ significantly across regions. These differences create complex issues for utilities, from ageing infrastructure to the integration of renewable energy sources.

Megger’s Smart Grid Sensors were introduced as a versatile and easy-to-deploy solution that works with existing infrastructure. Using real-world case studies, Pryra showed how utilities across different geographies have successfully used the sensors to improve grid reliability and performance.

The webinar focused on practical use cases, highlighting how the sensors provide real-time data that helps utilities detect faults, balance loads, and improve outage response. These capabilities have led to clear benefits such as reduced downtime and better operational decision-making.

Pryra also explained how the sensors can be easily integrated across a range of utility environments, making them scalable and adaptable for networks of all sizes. His insights were based on field-tested results, offering attendees a clear view of the technology’s impact.

The session reinforced Megger’s commitment to helping utilities build smarter, more resilient power distribution networks with tools that support flexibility and data-driven strategies.
