Egypt and Kenya collaborate to build paper mills

Egypt’s Misr for Industry and Trade (Mintra) will enter into an alliance with a number of Kenyan companies to build new paper factories in the East African country, company officials have announced

According to Mintra general manager Hani Cassis, the new planned factories in Kenya have been planned with a total investment estimated at US$100mn approximately, Amwal Al Ghad reported.

Cassis added that the factories would specialise in paper production, packing and wrapping. He further noted that Mintra targets building 100 factories through the alliance.

The African Export Import Bank (AFREXIM Bank) would also finance the Egyptian companies that export to African markets with US$500mn.
