SAS secures patents in SAS Warranty Analysis

SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services, has earned approval for two new patents related to SAS Warranty Analysis, software that helps manufacturers and retailers apply analytics to warranty challenges.

SAS' new patents are "Computer-Implemented Systems and Methods for Warranty Analysis", and "Computer-Implemented Systems and Methods for Emerging Warranty Analysis Issues".

"As a long time user of SAS Warranty Analysis, we congratulate SAS on these patents," said David Bien, Corporate Director of Reliability at Sub-Zero Inc., a leading manufacturer of luxury refrigeration, freezers and wine storage units.

Technology investments

"The patents reinforce SAS' long-term commitment to customers and technology investments. Some vendors talk about reinvestment, but SAS actually does it. SAS' dedication to technology innovation is a critical factor in the year-over-year return we realise on our commitment to SAS Warranty Analysis."

Using SAS Warranty Analysis, for example, an automotive engineer can receive automatic notification of problems with anti-lock brakes. Combining technician comments with other pertinent data, the software can pinpoint the problem not just too warped rotors, but to those from a specific supplier and only when used in hot climates.
