Investing in African Mining Indaba 2023 has officially opened in Cape Town, as industry stakeholders flock to the continent’s largest African mining investment event under the theme ‘unlocking African Investment: Stability, Security, and Supply’

From 6-9 February, Mining Indaba will leave delegates with valuable insights on the latest mining trends shaping the industry through the extensive programme of thought leadership.

Simon Ford, portfolio director for Investing in African Mining Indaba, commented, “In addition to the most comprehensive programme of speakers, Mining Indaba 2023 offers unequalled opportunities for miners, suppliers, financiers, investors and government leaders. For almost three decades, Mining Indaba is the place where the mining community comes together to share and create dialogue that can spark change and ultimately, drive investment.”

Top sessions will provide attendees the opportunity to hear from outgoing Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter; Abdessalem Ould Mohamed Saleh, Mauritania Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Mines; De Beers Botswana CEO Sheila Khama; and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The new three-day InfraTech content programme is promising to bring detailed insights by industry experts as they delve into mining technology innovation, critical mineral exploration, supply chains, the just energy transition, and the changing nature of work, that will feed into the building and delivering mines of the future.

To encourage greater interest in exploration and early-stage mining another new addition to Mining Indaba is the Explorer’s Showcase. 29 exploration companies with a market capitalisation of no more than US$25mn and projects located in Africa will have an opportunity to present their plans to investors and top financiers at Mining Indaba.

Making a return is the Investment Battlefield, the renowned platform for pitching Africa’s hottest junior mining companies against each with a two-day programme that will be held across both the Mining Indaba and 121 Cape Town events.

During the four days of Mining Indaba, delegates will also benefit from mainstay content streams including the Ministerial Symposium, Intergovernmental Summit, Green Metals Day, the Young Leaders Forum and the General Counsel Forum.
