Bett Middle East and Africa (MEA), a leading global education technology exhibition and congress series, is being held in Abu Dhabi from 23 – 24 April 2018, focusing on developing overall education system in the region
The event gathers major educational stakeholders in the Middle East and African region including government officials, education leaders, educators and solution providers.
The two-day event, under the theme of ‘Educating for Success in the 4th Industrial Revolution,’ is being hosted in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), as well as Microsoft, Bett’s worldwide partner.
During his welcoming speech, Dr Ali Al Nuaimi, chairman of ADEK, said, “The very nature of this meeting carries with it a new vision and new ideas. I aspire that Bett MEA 2018 will help create a platform for educators and experts to share ideas and a solid vision.”
“We need to keep up with a rapidly changing world, with new goals and new objectives, which is the nature of knowledge and helps encourage everyone to work on continuous progress, while keeping up with change and speed. I look forward to witnessing brainstorming sessions during this conference, ones that will help benefit the overall education system across the world and will lead to ongoing success,” Al Nuaimi stressed.
The conference addresses the UAE’s deep-rooted vision in delivering inspirational educational curricula that are centred around excellence, innovation and progression. Bett underpins the nation’s ambitious vision to become the leading education destination in the world, as outlined in the UAE Centennial Plan 2071.
The Bett MEA Expo has also showcased more than 100 transformative tools and technologies set to revolutionise the learning environment through a people-based approach. The ‘Learn Live’ theatre has featured live applications of these new innovative technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality and artificial intelligence. The 2018 ‘Tech Talks’ stage has highlighted how the gamification of lessons can deliver a more immersive education for students.
“New approaches to learning, from mixed-reality solutions to hands-on lesson plans, provide students with the rich, immersive, collaborative experiences they need to ignite their innate curiosity and creativity,” said Ahmed Ameen Ashour, education director at Microsoft Gulf.
“Together we aim to discover the joint initiatives required to deliver truly student-centric approaches to education and underpin future employability and economic growth,” he further added.
