Scotland-based power solutions company AGGREKO has announced that it will participate in Mining Indaba 2020, Africa’s largest mining event

The company recognises that the mining industry is facing a major challenge as energy markets transition towards an increasingly decarbonised future.

It is clear that the industry needs to look for ways to incorporate cleaner energy solutions into its operations, but also to ensure the efficient use of capital to satisfy shareholders and investors without compromising the reliability of energy supply.

Cleaner, cheaper energy is now a commercial focus to prepare the sector for the future, according to AGGREKO.

The company’s hybrid power solutions efficiently combine renewables with thermal power generation and battery energy storage solutions to offer flexible, reliable power at a lower total cost of energy – and without the capex.

AGGREKO has more than 50 years’ experience providing power, heating and cooling and energy services in the African mining industry.

The company offers clients feasibility, exploration, and project planning, to site and camp construction, commissioning and production – even providing technical advice and expertise when they are ready to expand. The company also helps with closing the mine at the end of its natural life span.

Mining Indaba is set to take place from 4-7 February in Cape Town, Africa.
