Africa’s Big Seven (AB7), the continent’s largest food and beverage trade show, will return to Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg in June 2014, providing manufacturers, producers and suppliers with a platform on which to network and discover new business opportunities in markets throughout Africa

John Thomson from show organisers Exhibition Management Services, said, “There’s even greater interest in AB7 this year, with exhibitor enquiries from as far as Mexico, Poland, the Baltic States, and the Commonwealth of Independent States in Asia.

"This year’s AB7 and SAITEX show dates have been brought advanced by a month. This will provide our overseas clients with more time to act on business leads from the show, and also accommodate many Muslim exhibitors and visitors who wish to observe Ramadan."

Nearly 1,000 exhibitors from 45 countries took part in AB7 and co-located trade show SAITEX in 2013, including many from the BRIC (Brazil, India, Russia and China) nations. The show also had exhibitors in attendance from the UK, Malaysia, Pakistan, Spain, Thailand, Zambia and Zimbabwe, as well as Nepal, Lithuania and Vietnam. More than 16,000 visitors from 50 countries attended the 2013 event, including visitors from 27 African countries.

Africa is fast bucking the trend of stagnant world markets. With a population of almost one billion, comprising a rapidly expanding middle class with increasing wealth and disposable income, there has been a growing demand for a wider variety of products, foods and flavours, with more overseas and local suppliers eager to tap into African markets.

AB7 and SAITEX (Southern African International Trade Exhibition) expo will take place at Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 22-24 June 2014.
