Egyptian real estate developer Tamer El Kholy, chairman of TK Group for construction and real estate development, has been conferred the title of “Nana Kholy” during the Ivorian World Interaction Week in Dakar
The honour recognises Tamer El Kholy’s efforts and outstanding work in Côte d'Ivoire that opens the door to Egyptian investments in Africa and enhances Egypt's leading role across the continent.
The minister of national education, technical education and vocational training of Côte d'Ivoire, Kandia Camara, honoured Al Kholy during the ceremony that was held in the presence of ambassadors of several countries including China, South Korea, England, France, India, the UAE, Oman and the US.
El Kholy and his company participated in the activities of the Ivorian Interaction Week to review the work accomplished, of which the Ministry of the Interior's project of 10,000 housing units was the most important.
The Ivorian Interaction Week witnessed discussions related to the development projects of the State in several areas including housing, renewable energy and infrastructure. A number of high-level government bodies, led by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, along with the ministries of trade, housing, electricity, oil and education participated during the event.
The volume of the company's investments under the leadership of Tamer El Kholy exceeded US$13.92bn and is expected to reach US$40.60bn following the completion of a number of contracts that have been officially discussed.
Tamer El Kholy intends to maximise the benefit of the national product externally, relying on the import of more than 15 per cent of the components and products used in the future projects of his company, from Egypt.
