JinkoSolar’s PV modules for South African solar project

Solar power product manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding (JKS) has announced that it has supplied 304kW high-efficient solar PV modules for one of the largest roof-mounted PV solar plants in South Africa

German firm Soventix has been involved in the development of the project since 2010 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The project, involving the provision of more than 1,200 high-efficient photovoltaic JKS modules, will produce approximately 443,840kWh of electricity per year and save emission by nearly 72 tonnes of CO2 annually.

JKS chief marketing officer Arturo Herrero said, “We are happy to build a partnership with Soventix by being a part of the construction of this solar power project.

“South Africa is one of our key markets where we have already achieved around 300MW in contracts with our partners for the first and second rounds of the public tenders and we expect to strengthen our position from current and future opportunities in the coming third round of public tenders.”

Soventix regional manager Rowan Jacklin said, “We are happy about helping our clients reduce electricity bills and also benefit from the diminishing of carbon taxes.

“Soventix has vast experience in PV projects and our cooperation with JinkoSolar will undoubtedly enhance our competitiveness.”
