Ethiopia to host Powering Africa conference

Founder and CEO of Black Rhino Brian Herlihy will attend and speak at the 3rd annual investment meeting Powering Africa: Ethiopia, being held from 20-21 November in Addis Ababa

Herlihy will speak at the 3rd annual investment meeting alongside his team on investment in power generation projects and best practice on procurement delivery in the region, according to Black Rhino.

The event will give Black Rhino and other European financiers and developers an opportunity to connect with Ethiopia’s government and energy ministries to build capacity in the region’s renewable energy sector.

The meeting welcomes global stakeholders seeking to harness the vast renewable energy resources and boost power generation in Ethiopia, event organisers stated.

Black Rhino will join other companies at the event, including USAID, Reykjavic Geothermal, OPIC, Development Bank of Southern Africa and Goldwind International Holdings. Also attending will be Alemayehu Tegenu, minister of water irrigation and energy, Dewano Kedir, state minister of foreign affairs, Ethiopian Utility and other investors and financiers.
