Power solutions provider APR Energy, a global leader in fast-track power solutions, has extended its existing 70MV diesel power module contract in Botswana, for a further 12-month period

The US-based company has been supporting the Botswana Power Corporation, the national electric utility, through the provision of its turnkey diesel power modules since late 2009. At the time, it was appointed to counteract electricity shortages driven by demand growth and supply constraints in the region.

"The extension reflects our leading industry position in the region with 800MW of installed power capacity on the continent.

“Our 70MW facility in Francistown has been a key component of Botswana's power generation infrastructure for four years, filling a critical gap in the country's drive toward permanent energy sufficiency," said John Campion, CEO, APR Energy.
