The Ghana Grid Company has warned of disruptions to its power supply as a result of technical glitches at the West Africa Gas Pipeline Company

The glitches have affected the supply of gas to the Volta River Authority and caused a shutdown of the Sunon Asogli Power Plant.

GRIDCO said in a statement that it has requested the Electricity Company of Ghana and the Northern Electricity Distribution Company to implement a load-shedding programme in some parts of the country.

The statement added that engineers of the pipeline company were working to resolve the problem and that normal power supply would be restored as soon as the problem was resolved.
