The construction of the Kigamboni Bridge in Tanzania will cost US$152 million and employ more than 2,000 workers according to the country’s works minister, John Magufuli
The minister made the announcement at the 2012 Annual Consultative Meeting and exhibition of the Contractors Registration Board (CRB) which he opened in Dar es Salaam recently.
"The construction is set to start any time from now," he was quoted as saying by Tanzania Daily News, adding that the feasibility study and other procedures were ready.
The project involves the construction of a one-kilometre, six lane tarred road from Kurasini, a 680m cable stayed bridge and a 1.5km, six lane tarmac road.
