Dynapac road-building fleet expansion for Ramky’s in Gabon

Two recently delivered Dynapac CC 222 HF’s were quickly put through their paces on Ramky’s 22 km long Hyderabad Outer Ring Road contract.

Ramky Infrastructure Ltd are using Compactors built by Dynapac in India for its first African project, the Gabon Special Economic Zone in Libreville, Gabon

Dynapac has supplied a fleet of road construction equipment to Indian civil engineering contractor Ramky Infrastructure Ltd for use on the company’s first project in Africa, the Gabon Special Economic Zone (GSEZ), which is being built in the capital city of Libreville, Gabon, West Africa.

Supplied through Dynapac’s Indian division at Pune, the equipment includes two CA250 soil compactors and two CC384 tandem rollers that were built at the company’s plant in Nasik, India, and two F181 asphalt sensor pavers with 9.7m paving width, manufactured in Germany.  A pneumatic tyred CP274 roller used for asphalt finishing was also included in the order and was shipped from the Indian port of Nhavaseva recently.

Heavy equipment pedigree

“We are used to handling heavy equipment for our various construction projects but there is something special about the equipment supplied by Dynapac.  Much more than their sturdiness to withstand any rugged operations, the timely and regular service provided by the local dealer makes the equipment one of the best in the market,” says YR Nagaraja, Managing Director, RIL.

The GSEZ is a joint venture between the government of Gabon and Singapore-based Olam International, one of the world’s leading commodities trading companies.

Turnkey contract

The work of developing the GSEZ, worth $84mn, has been awarded to Ramky Engineering and Consulting Services (FZC) of Sharjah, a fully-owned subsidiary of Ramky Infrastructure Ltd.

The project is a turnkey contract for the design, engineering, procurement and construction of the 1,000 acre GSEZ, with Ramky constructing the internal infrastructure including the boundary wall, entrance plaza, fencing, landscaping, roads, drainage system, water supply system, water treatment plants, road lighting and the telecommunication system, in addition to a guest house, club, hospital and an R&D block.
