Construction companies across Africa are successfully delivering notable projects and enhancing their reputation with the support of Liebherr’s range of premium machines

After graduating from the Oregon State University with a civil engineering degree, with a focus on bridge and roadway engineering, Yacouba Kone honed his skills at multinational companies like Colas in France and SINTRAM in Morocco. Returning to Ivory Coast, Kone officially assumed leadership of Score in 2016. For a company that had begun its journey in 2013, operating solely in building and water drilling, Kone brought a new vision and drive: gradually expanding into road construction (starting with heavy and light reprofiling) before advancing to asphalt work in 2018.

With numerous construction sites in the northern region, Score solidified its reputation, completing notable projects such as a 24 km section around Didievi. A defining moment for the Score team occurred in 2019 with the successful completion of a challenge in Katiola: paving and restoring a road while preparing an aerodrome for a presidential visit, all accomplished in just three weeks.

This achievement propelled Score into the ranks of primary road construction firms in the country, evident in its 2023 award as the 3rd laureate for the best earthmoving company in Ivory Coast. Score's ambition remains unwavering, as the general secretary asserts, "Our ambition is to be the number one in our field and expand our activities in the sub-region."

With a new project initiated in July 2023, involving the construction of  56 km road between Dabakala and Satama Sokoro, among others, the path forward is evident. A core strength of Score lies in its Liebherr machines. Acquiring two PR744 Liebherr dozers in 2020, Score began its journey with the German brand in collaboration with Premium, the official dealer in Ivory Coast.

The machines are preferred for their reliability, efficiency, and remarkable power. Last year, this partnership was further fortified with the acquisition of sixteen new Liebherr machines, including L550 and L566 wheel loaders, R920 and A918 excavators, and PR746 dozers.

As the inaugural and historical dealer of Liebherr in Morocco, the Premium Group expands its footprint with subsidiaries in six countries in Western Africa, aiming to lead in construction, mining, and quarry operations.
