Technology provider CEMTEC has won a contract from cement manufacturer Ciments de l’Afrique to build a new cement grinding plant in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire

According to CEMTEC, the new grinding facility will have a capacity of 500,000 tonnes per annum and is expected to double the existing cement production capacity of Ciments de l’Afrique.

The technology provider added, “The new plant will be installed with a ball mill supported by Shell. The ball mill will have an installed motor power of 2,250kW. The cement grinding plant will also have a CTC-110 separator with improved rotor design to reduce power consumption and increase separation efficiency.

“The scope of supply includes the raw material handling, including intermediate silos, grinding section, cement silos with bulk loading, transport to existing packaging plant, electric and control system, structural steel building, civil works and complete erection.”

CEMTEC revealed that the major challenge will be integrating the new grinding facility into the existing plant structure with minimal interference and in the shortest possible time.

“The work will be accomplished on time because of the clear vision and technical specification given by Ciments de L’Afrique and our professional flexibility towards the fulfillment of those specifications,” noted the firm.

The plant will be fully operational towards the end of 2015, stated CEMTEC.
