The rollout of a 3D modelling solution under an agreement between Dassault Systèmes and ASE Group of Companies (ASE) could transform future African construction projects, according to reports
World leader in 3D design software Dassault Systèmes earlier this month signed a three-year cooperation agreement with ASE, part of Rosatom Group, to deliver enhanced support to nuclear power and other energy initiatives via Dassault's Multi-D Solution.
Under the new agreement, Dassault Systemes' 3D Experience platform, part of its Multi-D technology, can be expanded to countries like Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria to develop capital construction, production operation and maintenance programmes on a project management basis, claims the Vanguard.
This could be used to help facilitate progress on Ghana's LNG terminal construction slated for completion in 2020, the design of geothermal plants and the redevelopment of roads and infrastructure under Kenya's 2030 strategy, and waste-to-energy projects and port refurbishment in Nigeria.
ASE's state-of-the-art Multi-D system will also help improve the design and management of complex engineering facilities like NPPs and thermal power plants, reports CIO East Africa.
"The Multi-D Solution facilitates the effective management of parameters such as budget, deadlines and quality for complex engineering facilities," said Vyacheslav Alenkov, director, system engineering, ASE.
Thomas Grand, vice president, energy, process and utilities industry, Dassault Systemes added, "The 3D Experience platform presents engineering, procurement and construction companies, owners, operators, regulators and suppliers with a trusted collaborative environment to innovate, build, operate, supply and recycle."
