Building Energy donates construction materials, books to Uganda’s community school

Building Energy SPA has supported the Tororo local community in Uganda with a donation of construction materials, furniture, textbooks and agricultural equipment to the Asinget Community School

The company is an Italian multinational operating as a globally integrated IPP in the renewable energy industry.

The representatives of Building Energy presented donations to the school management committee in presence of the executive community members, teachers and few school children during their visit in Tororo.

The Asinget Community School has received chairs, desks and textbooks for its 114 schoolchildren, as well as construction materials such as bricks, cement, sand, doors and windows for the construction of a new school.

Furthermore, Building Energy has also provided the local community with access to some land, seeds and tools to help young people and families begin a modern experimental cultivation farming initiative.

The Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF) Directors visited the Asinget Community School previously and donated funds for textbooks and some instructional materials as part of Building Energy’s commitment towards the Tororo community development plan of the project.

Building Energy has a presance in Tororo with a 10 MWp solar plant, consisting of 32,240 photovoltaic panels distributed in more than a 14 ha site. The facility has been designed with an aim to generate around 16 GWh of energy annually, catering to the energy needs of more than 18,500 families.

The company said that it will also foster industrial development in the city of Tororo and plans to save atmospheric emissions of more than 7,200 tonnes of CO2 per year. According to the company, it focuses on tangible benefits to the local community by contributing to the environment and sustainable economic growth.
