Nigerian information technology company Computer Warehouse Group (CWG) has been named the ICT Solutions Provider of the Year Award at the Beacon of ICT (BoICT) awards marking the third time CWC has won the honour
The annual Beacon of ICT (BoICT) awards were instituted in 2008 by Nigeria Communications Week to reward best practices and outstanding contributions towards the growth and development of ICT in Nigeria.
Dr Ernest Ndukwe, who chaired the event, presented the award to CWG associate vice-president Dayo Abegunde who also represented the company at the event.
Upon receiving the award, Dayo remarked, "We are deeply honoured to be recognised and appreciated for our contribution in using ICT to improve the economy."
The award's organisers said that they had been designed primarily to recognise public and private organisations, as well as individuals, for their creativity and excellence in the application of ICT solutions, and to provide efficient and high-quality services to Nigerians.
Dayo praised the event stating that similar initiatives would motivate stakeholders to be effectively involved in the projects that would ensure technology growth in Nigeria.
CWG said it was committed to enabling businesses in Nigeria and across Africa with the use of technologies that solve business problems, which has led the company to partner with notable Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for its best-in-class products and deliver them in the best manner to its customers in the countries where it has a physical and virtual presence.
