Engen Petroleum, an African downstream petroleum company with operations in 20 sub-Saharan countries, has begun to use Space Planning and Intactix Knowledge Base solutions in order to optimise management of its store planograms, fixtures, cluster data, product attributes, and performance data
Engen, a subsidiary of energy firm Petronas Malaysia, selected JDA Software Group’s Space Planning and Intactix Knowledge Base solutions to centralise its store-specific space planning for the more than 600 convenience stores that it operates.
JDA senior vice president, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Razat Gaurav, said, “Organisations like Engen Petroleum understand that to flourish in today’s consumer-driven environment requires processes and solutions that optimise space and category management strategies to meet shopper expectations.”
Engen supply chain manager, convenience sales and marketing, Alan Pearson added, “JDA Space Planning will give us the ability to use our store data more effectively and integrate all planogram information directly into our central database using the Intactix Knowledge Base,”
JDA partner, Syndicated Inventory Management Solutions (SIMS), was instrumental in conducting a six-month store-specific pilot in which top line growth ranging from 2.5 per cent to 12.5 per cent was achieved, while maintaining set margins for a category.
