Barras-Hill takes over from long-serving African Review editor Andrew Croft, who steps down to pursue academic interests.
With more than 7 years’ experience as a journalist and editor, Barras-Hill has held editorial positions across a variety of B2B publications, including spells covering UK local government, the public realm, built environment, and the international luxury goods markets.
Most recently, he was business and finance editor for global travel retail luxury title Frontier magazine where he drove enhanced coverage across print and digital avenues and presided over the successful relaunch of a buyer-focused sister publication.
He said: “I am delighted to take the editorial helm and look forward to the challenge of maintaining African Review’s prestigious reputation as the leading technical and business title for management and senior executives working across industry and government in Africa.
