Lakeside Estate named best affordable housing provider in Ghana

Lakeside Estate has been named ‘Residential Builder of the Year – Lower Income’ at the 2012 Ghana Property Awards

After winning the award on in late October, Alhaji Salah Kweku Kalmoni, director of Lakeside Estate, said, “We at Lakeside Estate are proud to win the award.

“This proves that we are number one real estate developers when it comes to affordable houses. We have successfully built and marketed affordable houses for the past 11 years. We will continue leading the industry with houses for everyone in Ghana. Next year we will introduce two bedroom flats.”

Lakeside Estate, which is part of the Kalmoni Group, has also been also celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2012. On 19 October the company held a Customer Appreciation Dinner in Accra, playing host to its local customers and international suppliers, including Nissan, Mercedes Benz and Dragon First International. Other activities scheduled as part of the 2012 anniversary celebration are the Employee End-of-Year Party and Family Day.

Prince Joseph Ayiku, who has been a Lakeside Estate employee for 11 years, was promoted to the substantive managing director position on 1 October. During his employment, Ayiku has seen the company increase its portfolio from 10 houses per year to more than 110 houses per year. The board of directors said they have full confidence in him leading Lakeside Estate over the next decade.
