One of the world’s largest security companies, G4S, has made clear their intention to expand and enhance their already significant operations in Africa

Operating in more than 125 countries world-wide, 30 of which are in Africa, G4S has planned for its African business to undergo a double-digit growth over the next two years.  Also, during the following 12 months, the company intends to expand into three new countries in the continent.

G4S regional president for Africa Andy Baker was recently appointed to the role with the aim of monitoring a programme of aggressive acquisitive growth across Africa.  He noted that despite the already significant size and scale of G4S business in Africa, there are still many opportunities for greater expansion.

Baker carried on to state that many European and North American companies were focussing upon Africa, due to their stagnant and saturated home markets.

Baker added, "Challenges are often closely paired with opportunities, and this is certainly the case across Africa.

“Because we specialise in helping our clients to manage some of the biggest risks and dangers of operating in Africa, some of the most difficult markets in the continent are the ones that represent the biggest opportunities for our business."
