Siemens Energy has begun work on the construction of the Geregu II gas turbine power plant in Ajaokuta, Nigeria - located approximately 200km south of the country's capital, Abuja, for the Nigerian utility Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC). The gas-fired power plant is scheduled to start commercial operation in late 2012.
