Automotive engineering firm invests in expansion

Metric Automotive Engineering, a South African diesel engine and component re-manufacturer, has embarked on a refurbishment exercise at its Germiston premises to expand its workshop floor space, equip the workshop with new equipment and extend its admin offices to cope with increased volumes

Metric Automotive Engineering’s Andrew Yorke says this significant investment in modernising and expanding the company’s premises is the first of a twophase expansion plan that will ultimately see the company doubling its current floor space through the addition of new buildings to be constructed on a piece of adjacent land, which the company already owns. The extension will include a new component cleaning facility and additional engine performance test benches.

“Our company has occupied these premises for more than 30 years and although many improvements have been introduced over the years, it was time to bring our buildings firmly into the 21st century and up to spec with the world class work we are doing,” Yorke says.
