South Africa hosts business breakfast dialogue on rural and township economies in eThekwini

South Africas Department of Trade and Industry said that Rob Davies, the Minister of Trade and Industry hosted a business meeting with the Member of the Executive Council for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal, Sihle Zikalala and eThekwini Mayor, Councillor Zandile Gumede

Participants in the meeting will include business and industry leaders, relevant experts, government officials and other stakeholders from the community.

The meeting focussed on the Rural and Township Industrial Economy.

The meeting is aimed at creating a platform for public and private sector stakeholders to come up with solutions to support mechanisms for rural and township economies.

The event is part of the build-up to the Presidential Summit on the Rural and Township Economies, which will be held in the Eastern Cape next month.

The eThekwini metropolitan municipality which includes the city of Durban and surrounding towns. The municipality is one of the 11 districts of KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa.
